Alright, this one is a bit different. Because there are only 326 rings available for Knuckles here, it's better to go for the time bonus, as you can complete this stage under a minute. And so for a rare occasion in S3K, we do a time based score attack, getting as much as possible in under a minute.

Now, getting sub 1 here is actually far from trivial. It requires using slope glitch (obtained at 0:21) to speed through the stage. And there still isn't a whole time of time to spare, so people hadn't really optimised this stage for score before, especially considering an optimal boss fight will take damage for invincibility frames. But I added in both the large rings, making a sizeable difference, and managed to still sneak in under a minute without damage.

This beats the previous record of 54,500 by exactly 10,000 points.

Note: For score attacks, you are only allowed 100 points from hitting the signpost, but are allowed to hit it as many times as required for the boxes. Because I hit it 5 times, I subtract 400 points from my score to get the actual total.
