With that said...
Sonic 2 Pink Edition is a hack of Sonic 2, by E-122-Psi; the release topic on Sonic Retro is here: forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?threads/sonic-2-pink-edition.39433 (for future reference, I play version 1.7 in this video).
In this hack, you can choose amongst three characters: Amy, Cream, and Big, who is listed as "mystery guest" in the options screen. Of course I choose to play as Big because Big is awesome.
You can complete the levels in the normal way if you want, but you also have the option to find Froggy. Of course I don't find all of them in this video to prevent it from being a TOO blatant spoiler, but I find some of them to show you the mechanic.
