Our acoustic jazz cover of "Star Light Zone" from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, originally composed by Masato Nakamura. This arrangement by Patrick Bartley.
Ahh, Star Light Zone... such a beautiful 80s show-theme-esque song for a nice outer space level. Who would've thought that the chaos that is Scrap Brain Zone would follow right after this... Well, those who were fortunate enough to make it past Labyrinth Zone were graced with the extremely charming first four notes of this level that certainly gave at least a "temporary" sigh of relief from that underwater fiasco (which, also has a pretty groovin' song, too... come on, Masato-san, why???). This play-through was borrowed from ClassicGamerX11's channel.

We're back! - and with a brand new look and feel to the J-MUSIC Acoustic series. It's been a long time coming, but we felt it was finally time to get back in gear and explore our favorite video game songs out there - with some future anime and j-pop songs that will be covered as well. We have big plans to eventually release all these arrangements as downloadable PDFs online, as well, so be sure to let us know which songs you'd like to see the most! Hosted by Phil Dejean, this Checkerboard Kids concert special was filmed to a live audience of dedicated Perfume fans who came all over to join in the celebration.

There are a few songs we did on this show that are just such iconic staples of our repertoire, we had to play them again on this show. This is one of them that always sticks out to us as just one of the quintessential jazz standards of VGM. As a matter of fact, speaking of jazz standards, we threw in a classic old quote that just couldnt be left out towards the end of the song (that just, uh, worked out a little TOO well this time around).
