This song instantly transports me back to the first time I played WoW all night and through the next day. I still love this game after 10ish years of playing. I may be off for long gaps at a time, but I'll always consider it one of my favorite games. The ever-growing soundtrack is one of my favorite things ever. I love visiting old night elf zones just to hear this music and see the sights. I know other players love to do the same!
For the gameplay video, I followed a random new player haha (around 1:30). I wanted to get a shot of a new player running through Teldrassil. It is a wonderful memory, running through with this music playing. Thanks stranger.
I added some quiet words - "Elune" and "Adore" layered together in some places. I was inspired by Nightsong (which I also covered)! I LOVE the way the original vocals (synth) change the vowels from "ee" to "ohh", so I also sang it this way it in this cover ~ every time I hear the song in game I sing along this way. ^^ I finally found a reverb setting I like for my vocals; reverb is the only effect I add to my vocals. I've experimented with compression/eq before but after many recordings, I prefer them this way. I'm glad I found one I like most after all the settings I've tried! I also do 2-3 takes of several vocal parts and pan them in each ear. You can better hear this with headphones. I also added some thunder/rain/water/wind sounds in the beginning of the song.
As always, this song and video took many hours to complete, I spent a lot time on each part. Organizing all the vocal videos was an event in itself! I wanted them to flow with the song and showcase different parts instead of leaving them in the same spot the whole time. The piano videos switch when I've combined different sounds or am using new sounds, as they have to be recorded on separate tracks. I've become more detailed with everything and am always trying new things.
Of course, there's more silly stuff at the end of the video. ;)
That outro video at the creek was taken on a family trip in another state. I was looking for some nature shots to use, and found those from a couple months ago.
