A giant hand raises from the desert as if the someone buried down the earth is asking for help. But there is no help in the Atacama Desert, the driest place on the planet, only a moon and the sky dotted with stars looking over the vast landscape. Behind the vulnerable hand calling for help, another soul is seeking shelter.
As the moon swims across the night ocean ever so quietly, it tells many things to us.
It says the night will not go on forever. It gives us hope that everything is and will be alright.
The moon has two faces. It carries light on one side, the darkness on the other. It says happiness and depression, encouragement and disgrace, compassion and cruelty, are like light and dark. They will come and go. Only truth will stand here forever, like the sky, be it day or night.
The moon is imperfect, yet shines so beautifully to bring light to others. And it does it so gently and selflessly. It is never too harsh. It never criticises anyone and never complains. It either shines or hides away. There is so much we can learn from it.
The moon says it is okay to be alone, for the biggest joy and sadness can only visit us when we are with us only.
It says we are like the moon.
Alone. Imperfect. And with a darker side!
