This song means a lot to me.

On the one hand, I've long been trying to find my way back to a more refined version of how I used to sound when working in Logic Pro, but I couldn't quite figure out how I sounded the way I did back then. After long last, I've found that it was orchestral elements— in this case, a string section, french horns, and bells— that made a world of difference. I'm finally able to capture the lush, full sound I once had with the more up-to-date production techniques I've learned in the last few years.

On the other hand, it's been a little while since I've written a more emotionally impactful tune. Meanwhile, in the last month it's been a struggle to step back from work and content creation to take better care of myself, and I felt the whispers of a version of myself I thought I left behind coming back to haunt me. This song was my reminder to myself that I've kept the best of myself with me, and I'm worth maintaining. The way I used to be is no longer here. I'm finally more fully and openly myself, and that will not change.

Please enjoy my last original release of 2022. And here's to a spectacular 2023.
