Well, we're home from Montana and the garden apparently didn't miss us at all. 😂 We had been gone for about eight days, so we knew there was going to be a lot to harvest, but it really wasn't too overwhelming. There were tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkins, peppers and some really nice potatoes. The tomatoes are still going strong and still setting flowers, so I'm hoping we'll get tomatoes through September unless we get some crazy cold snap.
We also dragged the old farm stand out of the back pasture, and that turned into a whole thing. We were thinking about repurposing it, but once we started cleaning it out and looking at how well Todd built it, we started thinking maybe we should just sell it. And then we found out we weren't the only ones who thought it was a good place to live because there was a little baby opossum hiding inside. He had apparently been living in our trailer this whole time. We finally got him out, so hopefully he finds his dad and goes on to bigger and better things.
And then there's the garden question. Some things did really well, some things absolutely did not, and we're still trying to decide whether this garden is bigger than we need. The potatoes were amazing, the corn was okay, the cucumbers just mysteriously died, and the strawberries are still a little bit of a battle for the amount of strawberries we actually get. So we're wondering if maybe we need a smaller garden? We don't know yet. We'll see.
