Relative to the other Mattel toys, this is pretty disappointing. I think it must use a different chip or something. I haven’t got much sample isolation and I’ve got no move through glitch. What it does do is play square and sore tooth tones and other sounds. It also does something that sounds like a jump scare glitch. There is a part that’s interesting in which it plays she’ll be coming round the mountain and the sounds that usually play the main melody are playing the accompaniment instead but the sample that sounds like the bend a tune trumpet has a chorus effect and I thought at first it was because it was blending it with the other Sample that sounds a bit like that that is heard in oh my darling Clementine that’s used for the main melody but given it’s only two channels I’m not sure if this is true. I’m glad to say that this toy is safely back together and I’m planning to keep it in storage until November as I have contacted Someone who is willing to put a speed control on it for me after he does another project that is going to take about two months. Then hopefully I can get some better glitches and sample isolation out of it by leaving it on slow stop but I’m not sure if I will. Most of these glitches were caused by touching a part of the circuit board with tinfoil right beside the part that causes it to go slow as it didn’t do nearly as many glitches as the Tigger and Fimbles radios do When I wiggled it about at the slow end. I’m not going to risk glitching it like this again in case I break it.
I really hope I get the sound set from this thing because I’d really like to create new arrangements with it. I know it shares some samples with the Blues Clues radio and the banjo sample is higher quality than that like on the Tigger radio but the flute sample sounds lower quality and therefore different than on the Tigger radio. It shares The xylophone and base samples with the Blues Clues radio but the other sounds aside from the sound shared with the Bend a tune Trumpet aren’t shared with any toys that the samples have been isolated on as far as I know. The major and minor chord samples can be extracted from the tunes themselves because they play solo anyway but the guitar sample that accompanies oh my darling Clementine doesn’t play solo and it also has the sample for the main melody in that tune and the other piano sample that I want to get. It’s also got that little hiss sample but that is played solo and as is the sample that sounds like the phonics A to Z that plays the countermelody in I’ve been working on the railroad.
