I have only been out winter camping twice this year. Between the cost of living going up and the price of fuel skyrocketing it's been getting more and more difficult to find the resources to make it out to the mountains and back. I wanted to find somewhere relatively nearby (within 100km) to post up and enjoy some time in nature. I was going to head to Burch lake but after chatting with Steve and Michelle on my way I decided to head east for once and try Buffalo Lake Provincial Rec area. The snow was deep but I was alone, it hadn't looked like anyone had camped there all winter despite it being one of the few places open year-round. Jumped onto the ice to see about catching some water birds but yet again skunked...I think I just lack the patience required for ice fishing haha. Anyway as always thanks for coming by on this beautiful weekend and hope to see you again at the next one.
