Join me on another solo wildcamping adventure in the Lake District. It's the hottest day of the year so far, 24 Celsius and climbing! With my first multi day hike of the year fast approaching I didn't want to take too many risks, so I park up near Whinlatter visitor centre, and begin the hike through the woodland. With great views of surrounding mountains and Keswick through the trees it's a lovely walk. I quickly find myself exiting the forest, and after a short ascent I'm on the undulating flat and hit Whinlatter summit, however the official Wainwright summit called Brown How is a little further. Views over the surrounding mountains have now become much better, and with the good weather I can see for miles. I tap Brown How to make my Wainwright total 82, and set my chair up to bask in the sun and enjoy the fantastic wildcamping views. I then find a great pitch, enjoy my food, and then get the tent up, just in time to sit back and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen! Following a good night's sleep I cook myself some breakfast, before packing up, on setting off back to the car the sunrise was deep and sultry, which made for a very enjoyable walk home.
