How to get an empty session in Red Dead Online:
On PS4 Home Screen - Settings - Network - Set Up Internet Connection - Use (whatever you use to connect) - Custom - Choose your network - Automatic - Do Not Specify - Automatic - Manual - MTU 1500 (Change value to 850) - Next - Do Not Use - Test Internet Connection - DONE!
Playing in an empty session is very useful. The more players in a session, the less likely events and interactions are to spawn in.
In GTA Online, I used to use an MTU of 750 to get an empty session so I could sell goods from my businesses without worrying about getting killed from griefers and having my goods destroyed. (You can now do everything in an Invite Only Session.)
But Red Dead Online doesn't have Invite Only sessions and using an MTU of 800 or lower wouldn't let me online at all. Over 900 and there would still be other players in the session. It took many attempts but I finally found a reliable number. 875 also works just as well. I'd been looking at other ways to get an empty session, but they were all more complicated or less reliable.
I don't know about PS5 or PC and I've heard it's not possible to change the MTU on X Box.
