Most people into flip clocks, myself included, have called this flip clock the Solari Udine Cifra 2. However, it's official designation is the Cifra 2/s, the Cifra 2 being a model without an alarm.
This particular clock in the Flip Clock Fans collection, is fairly rare because most Cifra 2s are designed for 200-240 volts at 50 Hz - made primarily for use in Europe.
This Cifra 2 here operates on 100 to 125 Volts at 60 Hz - making it usable in the USA and part of Japan among other areas.
And strangely, the Cifra 2 came out After the Cifra 3 - believe it or not.
As you may know, Solari Udine is famous for their iconic train station flap boards, which are unfortunately a relic of the past with few remaining in use.
There were Cifra 2 and 2s clocks branded for the German small appliance company Rowenta. So that's what that's all about.
According to Italian advertisements the clocks came in the colors orange/black, white/gray and white/black.
The Solari Undine Cifra 2/s
A prized part of the Flip Clock Fans Collection.
Thanks for taking the time.
