The future for solar is bright! ☀️
With up to 250,000 solar panels, our Ruakākā Solar Farm, south of Whangārei, will be capable of producing up to 200GWh of electricity per year – enough to power around half the homes in Te Tai Tokerau Northland!
We know how important it is to invest in new generation and increase the security of the country’s electricity supply, and this project will provide big benefits to both Northland and New Zealand.
The solar farm is Stage Two of our Ruakākā Energy Park. The first stage - a 200MWh battery energy storage system - is expected to be fully operational later this month.
