West Wind is back smashing it! 💪
Our West Wind Farm in Wellington has been operating at reduced capacity for a bit over a year after developing a problem with one of its two transformers. Over the last few weeks our team's been installing a new one to get West Wind back to full capacity, - generating enough electricity for roughly 70,000 Kiwi homes!
We’re very grateful to @TranspowerNZ for loaning us this transformer until a permanent replacement's ready next year, and a huge thanks to our contractors for stepping up alongside the Meridian team at short notice.
Together, they haven’t just delivered a new transformer - they’ve delivered a fantastic result for New Zealand.
