It was all my little reading glasses could do to solar ignite these Oak Catkins. Although great coal extenders, catkins need an extended warming up period before they'll hold and extend an ember.
So, I made sure that all conditions were as favorable as possible... The Sun at it's highest and hottest, the sky at it's clearest, and about 4 or or 5 practice sessions beforehand. (Oh Yeah, you get 500 bonus points if you spot what I used on the ground to mark the spot where I wanted to stand in front of the Camera.)
