Have you ever wanted to "run the numbers" with a solar eclipse, to try to predict the size of the umbra and the penumbra? This spreadsheet will let you do just that, with the Globe Earth and the Flat Earth models. The calculations only need a few inputs: the size of the sun and moon, and their distance from Earth. Plus, if you have a specific spot in mind, you can add the angle of elevation of the eclipse and get a slightly more accurate answer.
