Just when we thought we were done with winter, we got a dump of snow and a polar vortex descended on us. We have been plunged into the coldest temperatures we have seen since living here. The first winter we moved here, a neighbor gave me some tips that I felt could be useful for anyone who has to deal with snow on their farm, property, or homestead.

After a Pancake breakfast we spread out some fresh gravel on our bumpy driveway.
We left the rat race in the city for a simple life in the country. We want to relearn sustainability and the skills necessary to raise or grow all of our own food. So many of these skills were second nature to my grandparents generation but nearly lost to our generation. It is a Journey Back to Basics.
