This arrangement is basically a summary of all my transcription activities so far and it's the very definition of my "Animenz" arrangement style:
Fast right hand arpeggios, crazy left hand jumps, an "original part" as a transition before the final chorus kicks in and - last but not least - a grand finale as a finishing touch.
Interestingly, this arrangement is also the exact opposite of my previous video:
Brave Shine was a product of my depression and the subsequent self-appraisal, and therefore, it has a more emotional impact than my usual videos and it is less technical.
Snow halation on the other hand is entirely made of pure joy and artistic freedom: I want to embrace the piano world with my contribution of anime piano music and basically - I want to start a firework to celebrate the grand piano!
This means that "snow halation" is more difficult than my usual piano sheets and It features many "suicide" passages (like the superfast-octave-spam at 4:20) and many more shenanigans.
It's no surprise that this is among my top 10 most difficult transcriptions I have ever made.
Still, I think it was a lot of fun to practice this transcription and I hope that you enjoyed listening to "snow halation - special edition"!
Alright, that's it, everyone! See you in 2 weeks again, and once again, thank you for your support! I'm curious if I will ever reach 1 million subs ~

![Niji no Ressha - AKB0048 OST [Piano]
Niji no Ressha is the insert song which has been featured in the first episode of the second season of AKB0048. Its not the full version but a slightly abridged version, because I havent repeated the first verse for this arrangement. Since AKB0048 Next stage is my most anticipated Anime of the winter season 2013, I decided to go all out and used many of my favorite arranging techniques Ive developed in the past two years: fast runs, huge arpeggios, three-hand technique, a extended intro and outro part. This arrangement is also one of the more difficult piano covers Ive ever created, mainly because of the really difficult voice jumps in 01:42 , a technique I rarely use.
Best girl is Makoto btw. But really, all girls in AKB0048 are great.

![Brave Song (full) - Angel Beats ED [Piano/Viola] feat. xclassicalcatx
Hello and welcome to the year 2014!
Let me proudly present you my first Viola and Piano collaboration - with Joanna! (xClassicalcatx)
I am very sure youve seen her videos before, because she is frequently collaborating with other Youtube musicians (including Tehishter). Her Youtube channel has many beautiful Viola covers from Anime, Video games and Disney movies and I really recommend you to have a look at her videos! (link of her channel at the bottom of this description)
This Collaboration means a lot to me because Brave Song was one of my earliest piano covers Ive uploaded on Youtube. I cant really explain it, but Brave Song has such a beautiful melody but at the same time, it is also incredibly sad. After I acquired better microphones, I wanted to upload a remake of my Brave song transcription, but upgrading it at the same time to a full size version.
Back then, I didnt have the confidence to make a full version transcription yet, because I thought I cant make it better than my TV-size sheet. I used up all my best ideas already for the 1:30 minutes.
I always have the urge to surpass my last video with every new upload, be it introducing new piano techniques or quoting some classical pieces, or adding some original material, and so on.
I needed some inspiration to move on and I found help by asking Joanna whether she was interested in a collaboration. It was like a dream came true: I can finally upload a remake of my transcription, plus I can finally have a collaboration with her for the first time!
After seeing Joannas duet with TehIshter (Ichiban no Takaramono piano + viola), I thought that her Viola Voice is a perfect match for the piano and I wanted to play a duet with her as well for a long time.
Therefore: thank you so much, Joanna, for making it possible! It looks like I still have a real emotional attachment towards this piece, even after all these years. I poured in all my soul and heart into this transcription, to make our very first collaboration a successful one.
Also, thanks to Tehishter, for editing the video for me! My Video editing skills is pretty much non-existent and you really helped me out here. I hope we can always stay friends like this ;_;
Therefore, enjoy the fruit of the great work, made possible through the teamwork of Animenz, xclassicalcatx and Tehishter: A full piano/viola cover of Brave Song!

![We Are! - One Piece OP1 [Piano]
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/62785
So here is my final piano arrangement for this year: WE ARE! - the first opening song of One Piece! This is one of the jazziest pieces I have arranged yet so far, with a jazzy solo part during the bridge part and an even more unconventional finishing move.
It took me some time to identify all those exotic chord progressions of the original song, since I am still not used to jazz harmonics, but I think that I am slowly progressing. I hope that I can incorporate more jazz elements in my future arrangements because jazz chords are simply fascinating to listen.
I was also experimenting with an alternate camera angle, which is a bit lower than my usual right side angle. The overview of the keys are gone but as a compensation, you can observe my hand positioning much better. But I think I still prefer the old camera angle, so I will return to the old one starting with the next video.
We Are! is another candidate for my top 10 most difficult arrangements I have ever made, because of the fast runs and the risky octave jump at the final chorus. It looks like I have to update my top 10 most difficult arrangements list again soon...
Well then, thank you for all your support over these years! This video also serves as a 700k subscribers milestone special and I am happy to see how the anime pianist community has been developing over the past 4 years. Its really fascinating to see the different styles of each arranger, and the many ways to arrange the same song on the piano.
I hope more people will become interested into the anime piano genre in the future.
Until next time!

Okay, so I just finished watching the 9th episode of Gargantia and oh my god, Gen Urobuchi is at it again with his trademark SUFFERING, utilitarianism, eldritch abonimation, militaristic dystopia and more SUFFERING.
Well, back to the sheet: Initially, this transcription was planned to be a full version, but due to time constraints, it was cut to half of the size. (the song itself is a bit repetitive ..)
In the end, this is a special extended TV size transcription of the ending.
Aside from adding a small intro, I also added an original ending part, to give the transcription a gargantic feeling - Get it? Gargantic?
...
okay, sorry for being so lame.
Enjoy the music.

![COLORS - Code Geass OP1 [Piano]
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/41463
Here is my piano cover of COLORS, the legendary first opening song of Code Geass!
Who wouldnt recognize the iconic JIBUN WOO at the beginning of this song, and the awesome guitar solo in the bridge. COLORS was and will always be one of my most favorite anime songs ever - and its probably one of the most iconic anime songs in the Anime community.
The difficulty of this arrangement is really high this time, because I was using many ideas inspired from classical music. Especially the guitar solo part starting at 1:49 was inspired by Chopins piano music, because of the added 6ths in the right hand scale.
Before I forget: Many thanks to CL for inspiring me to create my own COLORS arrangement! Basically, CL showed me his (draft) version of COLORS and it gave me many idea to create my own arrangement. Check out his YouTube Channel as well, he has uploaded many advanced Anime piano covers!

![Boku ja nai - Kakumeiki Valvrave ED1 [Piano]
So, many people have already done a piano cover of the Opening of Kakumeiki no Valvrave preserved rose, and of course its awesome, since its the divine combination T.M. Revolution and Nana Mizuki, but the ED Boku Ja nai by Angela also deserves some love because its an equally good song and has a really catchy refrain boku ja nai.
The speed of the song is pretty fast (quarter note =138), so the difficulty level of this piece is quite high. Initially, there was a longer original material part in the beginning of this transcription, but I scrapped it, since it diverted too much from the original piece. Only bar 5-7 remained as a short transition before the refrain begins.
The anime valvrave itself starts really silly (with a lot of cheese) but I expected nothing less from the writer of Code Geass. A ridiculous over-the-top no-brainer trainwreck. To put it another way: Awesome.
Ah, and before you ask:

![Kigeki (Comedy) - SPY×FAMILY ED [Piano] / Gen Hoshino
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/64657
Spy×Family is one of my favorite anime series of this season and the more I listened to the ending song, the more I wanted to play it on the piano. There are many interesting Jazz chords in this piece and I learned a lot about Jazz while arranging this song.
Sometimes I prefer to “approximate” the jazz chords in order to make them sound less dissonant. A good example would be the chord progression in 1:26 with slightly modified chords. I guess the classical music inside me is still trying to make it sound as smooth as possible. But at the end of the day, the goal is to make an arrangement which is pleasant to listen.
① Staccato is king 0:04
To keep the relaxed atmosphere of the original song, I paid a lot of attention to emphasize the distinctive staccato sound in the right hand. The pedal is almost never used in 0:04 and 1:32 to make the piano sound as “lightweight” as possible.
② Anya’s “dream” scene in 2:31
The staccato and the accentuated rhythm is the driving force behind this arrangement. But the bridge part in 2:31, a gentle left hand arpeggio is being introduced and the whole atmosphere has changed into a dreamlike state. I was particularly inspired by the ED animation from Spy X Family, where Anya was floating in the sky at the end (while still dreaming).
③ The jazzy “Finale” in 3:28
The final chorus in 2:58 starts very soft but with each repeat of the melody, a new texture is being added into the arrangement. Eventually it evolves into a jazzy improvisation in 3:28, acting as a finale for this piece. I was imagining that Anya is dancing happily in 3:28 without any care in the world. (I think at this point, I might be too obsessed with Anya. But we need to protect her smile. At. All. Cost.)
Since I have been working on jazzy pieces recently, I think its time to upload a new video on my second YouTube Channel with another classic jazz song this month.

Its been a while everyone! A lot of things has happened but the good news is, I can finally continue with my Youtube activity after I have settled with my conservatory. Its been a whole month since my last upload, but I am more motivated than ever to create more Anime piano covers!
This arrangement is quite special, because its not a full size, but an improvisation style arrangement, based on the TV size of Aruji Naki Sono Koe.
The tempo is not very strict, there are more dynamic differences and I added many additional parts to enhance the musical structure of this song.
Well, the final episode of AKB0048 will arrive in few days and Im really going to miss this series. I had a lot of fun with AKB0048 with its utterly crazy premise, the colorful cast of characters, the addicting music, and the Guerilla live concerts.
Truly an amazing Anime series. I wish more people would watch AKB0048. Until then, everyone!

![A Cruel Angels Thesis - Neon Genesis Evangelion OP [Piano]
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/41460
The opening song of Neon Genesis Evangelion is probably the most famous Anime Opening song of all time and I was facing a monumental challenge to adapt this legendary song to the piano. My arrangement of this song for the piano can be described as groovy, but it still retains my orchestral style of arranging.
I played this song many times during my Animenz live concerts in the past and I improvised if from the scratch every time. However, the beginning part 00:02 with the flowing arpeggios was one of my favorite arrangement ideas, so only this part was never changed.
Perhaps its just me, but every time I listen to the original song, I am always amused by the huge contrast between the choir singing part at the beginning and the part where the drums kick in. It feels like some heavenly choir is suddenly interrupted by a breakdancing group 。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。
Thats why I deliberately arranged the left hand accompaniment in a very upbeat rhythm, especially during the chorus in 01:20. I have listened to the full version of A Cruel Angels Thesis many times already, but the part which I still dont fully understand is the mysterious guitar solo part, right after the first chorus.
I am not sure what exact harmonies are played in the original song, but many piano cover versions use this opportunity to start their own individual piano solo parts, which can range from incredibly jazzy to a very lyrical style. I used a rather minimalistic approach by reducing the sound to a minimum of two bass notes in the left hand 01:43 because I wanted to focus the attention to the upcoming choir part in 01:58.
For the final repeat of the chorus in 04:09, I was using an alternative harmonization in the left hand to steer the song towards the big climax at 04:16. Imagine a Tam-Tam (a gong-like orchestra instrument which makes a DWAAAAAAANG~ sound) being striked at this moment. And after this turning point, I changed the atmosphere back like it was in the beginning and for one more time, the flowing right hand arpeggios are returning in 04:26. But this time they are going all the way up - like an ascending angel - until it reaches C8, the highest possible piano key. I think I am using the C8 note for the first time in any of my arrangements.
But if there is one thing I am really surprised by, its the fact that the main melody of chorus never feels boring, despite being repeated for more than 9 times in the original song. I guess its just a timeless composition after all.
Well, thats it for this weeks upload! I hope you enjoyed reading the story behind the creation of this arrangement.
Next week, I am going to arrange another song from the Evangelion franchise. I guess its time to give all those nostalgic Anime songs a new chance to be played on the piano again, even if they are more than 2 decades old.
See you next week!

![departure! - HUNTER×HUNTER (2011) OP [Piano]
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/62805
Hunter X Hunter (2011) was without a doubt one of the most amazing Shounen Anime I have ever seen and every single 148 episodes were absolutely worth watching. Especially the Chimera Ant Arc is so incredibly well done, it has become one of my favorite story arcs of all time. If anyone out there still havent watched this Anime: Go and watch it now! (and avoid any spoilers on the internet)
Honestly, after watching the final episode, I felt an emptiness I havent felt for a very long time. It took me almost half a year to finish all episodes and it was hard to say goodbye to the characters I grew to love. Hunter X Hunter has eventually become one of my top 10 favorite Anime series I have ever watched and this week, I am really happy to present you the special-type piano arrangement for the opening song!
I was quite surprised that Hunter X Hunter has been keeping the same opening song (with some variations) for all 148 episodes. But the song was so catchy I almost never skipped it while watching the Anime. But unlike the original song, this piano arrangement starts with a slower version of the chorus melody because I wanted to introduce the song with a nostalgic atmosphere. At 00:49, the second part of this arrangement begins and it describes the humble beginning of the protagonist. The melody is played in a carefree manner and its slowly building up its momentum.
And finally, 02:07 is the turning point of this arrangement. I was imagining the sunrise suddenly appearing in the horizon (similar to the Anime opening animation), signalizing the start of a big adventure. From this point on, the piece continues with its original upbeat tempo until the end.
A special mention also deserves 04:14. If you have seen the Anime, I was imagining Gon and [spoiler character] sitting at the top of the world tree and just looking at the amazing scenery in front of them. Thats why the music has suddenly calmed down at this part and the chorus melody is being played in the highest voice possible.
I was also thinking how to bring this arrangement to a satisfying conclusion. I decided to go with a big orchestra finale in 05:09, because I want to bid farewell to the vast world of Hunter X Hunter. But at the same time, I am still optimistic that the journey will continue ... one day... perhaps... eventually... (please Togashi sensei, return from your hiatus...)
Anyway, that would be this weeks upload! I hope you enjoyed these special type arrangements I am doing once in a while. They are usually arranged in a more freely manner and they always tell a whole story with the music alone. I hope this time I could do the same.
See you next week then!
I wonder what piece I should arrange next...

![KonoSuba Soundtrack Medley [Piano]
Sheet Music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/78179
This KonoSuba soundtrack medley is basically a summary of the entire KonoSuba story - featuring an isekai protagonist, epic adventures and devastating EXPLOSION magic.
0:01 You start your journey with a magical portal which leads you to a fantasy parallel world.
0:59 Once you have finished your preparations, you have a whole new world to explore and your grand adventure can finally begin now!
2:55 Of course, during the course of journey, various heroines join your party, but seriously: nothing tops Megumins badass EXPLOSION magic.
4:33 And with the power of f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶h̶i̶p̶ Explosion, you actually managed to complete the quest, and therefore it calls for a victory celebration!
6:10 You may have faced many challenges during the quest, perhaps one of your party members has been useless once AGAIN (looking at you, Aqua), or maybe you have to spend your entire reward for the damage you have done during your quest. Despite these hard times, you are not alone. Because when it really matters, you can count on your loyal party members. And thats what true friends are for!
Alright, thats enough fan-fiction from me. (´・ω・`)
But in a way, this was basically my idea for this piano medley.
I really love to tell stories with music only and a piano medley gives me the perfect opportunity to do so.
Also, I usually end piano medleys with a grand finale, but I made an exception for this one. The last part of this piano medley has an atmosphere of an epilogue. A final goodbye - to the wonderful world of Kono Suba.
Well then, I hope you have enjoyed this weeks upload and once again, thank you for watching my piano videos. I will just quietly go back to my study now. If I have some spare time left, I will return to YouTube again with a new upload.
