Spending an afternoon with the avalanche crew at Lake Louise Ski Area in Alberta, Canada. These guys are real heroes, forecasting avalanche danger, then targeting dangerous areas with explosives to minimize avalanche risk. Building bombs and then blowing up snowdrifts (then skiing back down the mountain) was some of the most fun I've had in the cold! A big thanks to the avi crew for taking me along (and getting me back down safely again).
