Sega leaned hard into slogans like Genesis Does What Nintendon't and the infamous term Blast Processing, which actually referred to a real technique tied to the Genesis running at 7.67 megahertz compared to the SNES's 3.58 megahertz processor. Nintendo fired back by pointing out the SNES had a more advanced graphics chip capable of way more onscreen colors, so the debate over which system was actually better raged on for years afterward. Fifty dollars doesn't sound like much now but back then it was often the entire difference between walking out of the store with a Genesis or waiting another year to save up for a Super Nintendo.
