This is my speedrun of The Firemen on SFC in 10 minutes and 54 seconds. This time is game time; real-time is somewhere in the neighborhood of 16:30. The way that game time is calculated here is that the time spent in each Stage is summed to generate the total time. The Stage times are only accurate to the second; any extra fractions of a second beyond the time displayed on the timer are lost.

This run was very clean for a game as hectic as this. Two of the Stages were personal best times, and the rest were above average. Much of this game is played on reaction, since there are a ton of triggers for different flames and it's very difficult to find a consistent path through many of the rooms.

This run uses deaths to improve the time and make it more consistent. Deaths provide an additional water-bomb, a full HP refill, and an extended invincibility period at the cost of about 1 game second. This is vital since I need to damage boost through most stages, and any extra boosts can speed things up immensely. I am working on a deathless run as well that uses different routes and does not abuse deaths, but it will be about 30 seconds slower than this run.
