This is a transcription and adaptation of a folk song for synchronized trumpet and tamburas. The root of the first part is the “Pevaj petle” (Hear the Rooster Crow) from Bartók’s Bánát collection of 1912. The second part is the adaptation of the fourth movement (Buciumeana) of Bartók’s “Romanian folk dances” (Sz. 56, BB 68). The recording was made during the seasonal opening of Müpa, September 2025.

In Residence at MÜPA captures a defining moment in Söndörgő’s artistic journey. Selected as Ensemble of the Season by Müpa Budapest for 2025–2026, the band was invited to curate three headline concerts in the National Concert Hall, joined by outstanding guest artists, among others, Michael League, Jay Jennings, and Chris Bullock of Snarky Puppy, Márta Sebestyén, and the Balanescu Quartet. This exceptional residency became both a celebration and a creative milestone. The concert series unfolded across three musical worlds, folk, classical, and jazz, reflecting the full spectrum of Söndörgő’s artistic language. This album preserves music created exclusively for those nights: unique collaborations, newly shaped arrangements, and spontaneous moments born from the intensity of live performance. These recordings are not reproductions, but singular encounters that could only exist in that place and time.
