Smurf Racer (also released as 3,2,1 Smurf! My First Racing Game) is an arcade-style kart racing video game developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and published by Infogrames in 2000. In this game, players can choose from a variety of playable Smurf characters, each equipped with unique gadgets and special abilities, to compete and progress through a series of championship races.
NoirStation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ - The game has a very low barrier for entry, featuring amazing and colorful graphics for its time, a cozy atmosphere, and a great musical score. It has a certain soul that's not really present in the modern corporate gaming scene anymore. As a kids' game, this would be a five out of five, but looking at it critically, there are weak points in the gameplay. Many of the game's mechanics simply don't work—such as the combat between karts, which is more there for show than actual use. The controls could be slightly improved, and the difficulty scaling is almost nonexistent. Once you learn the controls, the game becomes laughably easy.
