Ray Tracers is an arcade, vehicle combat, racing video game. Developed and published by Taito Corporation in 1997. Ray Tracers is also considered as the spiritual successor to ‘’Chase H.Q.’’ another Taito Corporations racing video game with similar gameplay mechanics. The game features two modes, one is called the chase and the other one is a classic time attack, where your objective is to beat the track as fast as you can. The chase mode, also known as the arcade mode, is where the main game lies. By selecting one of the race cars your goal is to complete the track in a very limited time frame. Battering enemies and bosses at the end of each level as well, which involves strategy and timing of using your nitro boost.
NoirStation Rating: - 4 Out Of 5 - Ray Tracers is a very fun and fast paced arcade racer that should not be taken seriously or overthinked. It serves as a cheap entertainment, which has great visuals and music for its time. The only negative drawback I encountered was the length of the game. Once the thrill and novelty ends it becomes a very repetitive racer, with the same six levels on repeat.
