Pandemonium is a platformer video game developed by Toys For Bob and published by Crystal Dynamics in 1996. The game follows two kindred spirits - Fargus, a jester, and Nikki, an acrobat - on a whimsical adventure. After getting carried away with a spell book, they accidentally unleash chaos, causing their entire town to be eaten. Now, they must search for the Wishing Engine to set things right.
NoirStation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ - Pandemonium has a lot of charm, featuring wildly inventive levels, wacky music, and a cast of quirky characters that make exploring the game world enjoyable. The gameplay itself is surprisingly diverse for a platformer of its time, with a mix of jumping challenges, puzzles, and combat that keeps things fresh and engaging. However, the difficulty curve is brutal, so much so that I had to resort to cheats just to make it through. While this might frustrate some players, it also adds a sense of accomplishment for those who persevere. Overall, Pandemonium is a unique and entertaining platformer, but it definitely isn’t for the faint of heart.
