Rules:
- This is a low level run of zombero's hardtype mod: romhacking.net/hacks/3299
- The aim is to keep XP gain as low as possible without affecting my sanity.
- Hard mode, obviously
- No stat boosting items
- All other game mechanics are fair game!
Hardtype changes:
- HP: 5000 → 18000
- Ice affinity : Void → Resist
- Force affinity: Neutral → Repel
- Loa: Last Resort/Stone Gaze → Maragidyne
After the trouble Black Rider gave me, I feared the worst for this fight. In fact, it turned out to hold the dubious honour of being the only fight that's easier in this run than in vanilla LL thanks to the removal of Last Resort from the Loas. If they still had it, it would be almost impossible to win without taking needless extra XP. zombero giveth and taketh away though, because I initially built a team of mages with Zandyne only to have it bounce right back in my face. I guess he wanted each rider to have a different affinity, although why not give him a force spell to go with it? I kept waiting for a surprise Wind Cutter/Vayavya to ruin my day but it never came.
Anyway, the only thing to fear is Pestilence into double Debilitate, but this is nowhere near as common as Black Rider's similar almighty/buff spam combo. There are too many ways for them to lose turns to be a serious threat. As such I equipped a questionable Magatama, since it's time to start collecting elemental voids for the Lucifer fight.
