why'd he have to go and-
Lowdown on the restrictions of this challenge:
- EXP gain is only permitted in boss fights and forced encounters, and must be minimised by only having 1 character active at the end of each battle.
- Autolevelling must also be minimised as much as possible. Argilla and Roland take all XP before they leave the party to reduce the impact of this later on, and Argilla's level must not exceed 12 so it doesn't affect Sera's starting level.
- This is a cycle 2 playthrough on hard difficulty with no data transfer bonuses.
- I will be fighting all bosses rather than doing a true minimum EXP run, cuz that's more fun. And let's face it, you're only here for Satan.
- The use of Data items to permanently raise stats is forbidden for as long as possible - at least until Shiva.
The Naga portion of the fight gives us plenty of time to max out on buffs, making the latter half considerably easier. You even retain your elec shield if you end the first part with one active. For what it's worth, the team could just about survive Conviction at this level, but with this method you should never have to see it at all as you can take out the Nagas in a single round no matter how many he summons. Raja Naga himself doesn't have that much HP but can really drag things out with Vanity or by getting caught in a Reinforcement/Void Fire loop. All in all this fight is more annoying than difficult.
Since I had plenty of spare cash I gave Argilla and Roland the best mantras available before they left so they'll have mastered them when they return. Even though we won't be seeing much of them again, they will need to finish off a couple of battles later on and having -dyne spells will help immensely with this.
