Hightail Falls's third Green Star done in 0.5x A Presses. The half A Press is to flutter jump off of the sideways pole to the star.
The blue A signifies that the A button is being held.

The Super Mario Odyssey A/B Button Challenge (Low-Cappy) is where we go through the game while pressing A or B as few times as possible. The Low-Cappy addition also limits the number of times we can throw Cappy. Note that A/B Presses are prioritized, meaning we will throw Cappy 100 times to save 1 A/B Presses, but not press A/B 100 times to save one Cappy Throw.
Other Rules:
You must play single player only, with no assist mode. You also must play with the recommended control scheme. (Two vertical joycons)
Q: What is a C Throw
A: A C Throw is short for Cappy Throw. We count a Cappy Throw every time we throw Cappy at something or have to stay in the air for a Cap Jump.
Q: Why A/B Presses?
A: In Mario Odyssey, the jump button is assigned to both A and B, so we use the notation, A/B Presses to account for both buttons at once.

A: Yeah, like Mario 64, a half a press is when you hold A from a previous a press that has not been shown in the video. There are various uses for a half a press that will be demonstrated later.

This video is an improvement from my last video on Chapter 2-1 where I completed the chapter in 18x 2 Presses. You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/RPJ6BArSPng
Since then, a lot has changed. First, an OOB method was found that could be used to hit the blue switch without needing to enter the background. This saves the platforming to the switch and the need to use the Return Pipe, cutting a lot of 2 presses. To set this up, however, I need to jump on a paragoomba and switch to Mario.
To avoid switching back to Peach, I platform through the rest of 2-1 as Mario. This adds 2x 2 presses to cross the pond in the second to final room as I could no longer float as Peach.
I also skip Boomer in this segment, like last time, as Boomer asks 8 questions which quickly racks up 2 presses. I use the Shell Shock method as I only have 1 Life Shroom at this point and I need to use it get past the electric gates in 2-3 without Slim. The Shell Shock takes 3x 2 presses.
The rest of Chapter 2-1 is straightforward, although the platforming is not and requires a lot of precise workarounds, but they do not need further explanation.
This video features a pixl skip (Boomer in this case). Boomer is one of 5 pixls that are skippable in Super Paper Mario. This is because if we manage to beat the intended chapter without gaining the pixl, the game gives the pixl to you after the chapter is over in a short dialogue sequence.
This video features a modified view (at 7:48) to help better visualize the home buffer bounces. This modified view edits out the home menus for a more fluid viewing experience.

This is the Super Paper Mario: 2 Button Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to beat Super Paper Mario while pressing the 2 button as few times as possible. Beating Super Paper Mario requires Mario and the other characters to reach the end credits. Any method is allowed.
What does the 2 button do?
The 2 button does all of the following:
-Jump
-Swim
-Answer a multiple-choice prompt
-Open the quick menu
-Select any item in a menu
-Enter passwords
Things that look like they need the 2 button but can be accomplished with other buttons:
-Progress through dialogue (1 Button)
-Selecting objects with Tippi (A Button)
-Ground pounding with Thudley (1 Button)
-Exiting free fall as Luigi (1 Button)
Each video is only a segment of the larger run and does not consider individual level high scores. This means that the 2 press count for the segment may not be the lowest 2 press count possible if considered in isolation. However, the 2 press count showcased in the video is the lowest 2 press count with the full game in mind. This also means that each video should link seamlessly to the next video chronologically (more or less). Because we are looking at the full game, we also count any save prompts that appear after the chapter is over.

Really bad example of the 2 Button Challenge, but now that we got Thoreau, the possibilities start to open up...
Video Notes:
Chapter 1-2 doesnt feature many optimizations as Mario doesnt have any pixls at this point and the level is mostly a vertical climb. However, a shortcut found by flipping into 3D at the starting area allows skipping most of this climbing. The current method of Green Bridge Skip is inaccessible for the 2 Button Challenge (2BC) because it requires getting a Life Shroom which could only be obtained by the shop at this point in the game. Buying an item from the shop takes at least 5x 2 presses, which on top of the 2x 2 presses to actually perform the LSJ and the presses needed to collect the 50 coins to buy the Life Shroom, cost more 2 presses than what the LSJ would save.
