SMEs are active players in Europe’s fusion supply chain. What’s in it for them?

We spoke to four SMEs to hear about the commercial benefits of working in projects like ITER or JT-60SA. Here is what they told us.

The trajectory of the conductor and of the radial plate must match within fractions of millimetres. During this operation it is vital that the level of the conductor deformation is below 0.1%. Otherwise, the superconducting strands can get damaged and reduce the performance of the superconductor.$
