Tier lists have always been a thing in fighting games, but it was Melee where the Smash Bros. fandom really got involved with making them! The series' second entry more than doubled the original game's roster, bringing in many iconic characters (and a few who became iconic because of Melee), and fans have been ranking them on competitive viability and other categories for over 20 years. But strangely, there hasn't been much discussion at all over how well-DESIGNED these fighters have been!
This second episode of an ongoing series is an attempt to change that. Follow along as we go over the 14 newcomers who made their debut in Super Smash Bros. Melee, judge how well their designs hold up and how well they carries the spirit of the characters into Smash, and see how they all rank together!
