People bring me all sorts of things to try and repair. Todays challenge is the broken LCD for a Smartgyro Speedway scooter!
π΄ Issue Overview: The LCD display of a Smart Gyro Speedway electric scooter was damaged, rendering the speed and settings unreadable while the scooter itself remained functional.
π§ Diagnosis and Replacement: A generic S866 LCD display was selected as a replacement. Challenges included mismatched connectors and differing pin assignments.
βοΈ Troubleshooting and Fix:
The wiring was checked, and voltages were measured to identify transmit and receive lines.
After identifying a manufacturing error in the new displayβs pin configuration, the wires were rewired to match the original setup.
β Outcome: The display was successfully replaced, and parameters like voltage, wheel diameter, and speed limits were configured. The scooter was tested and achieved a maximum speed of 31 km/h with accurate display readings.
