Sunchang in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is renowned for its high-quality Gochujang, or red pepper paste. Sunchang Sung Ga Jung Food has maintained the company as a four-generation family business and it has mainly produced fermented pastes like soybean paste and mixed paste. By using the local agricultural products that are raised in Sunchang, it has produced fermented food with a deep and savory taste. All the products of the company are made with the domestically raised soybeans and sun-dried salt. By keeping the natural fermentation method, it has mainly provided Gochujang, or red pepper paste, Doenjang, or Soybean paste and Ssamjang, or mixed paste. The seasoned sesame leaves have a low salinity level, so it has gained popularity as a side dish. The Roundtable discusses why the war in Sudan is getting just a fraction of global attention given to other international conflicts. We also predict possible repercussions that could be caused by a spillover of the Sudanese crisis.
An increasing life expectancy means that many people can live to old age and work longer. We take a look at the rankings of countries with a higher elderly employment rate and talk about the factors contributing to the trend.
