I found out that you can easily get OOB by jumping in the right spot in the TTM slide painting after you eat the Super Mushroom. This made me a bit curious, so I tested it a bit more and was able to collect the Star without going down the slide. However, I don't know if this is faster than the current strat where you grab the Vanish Cap as Luigi and go through the red barrier. I kinda doubt it, but who knows.
This run was done in real time and recorded on an emulator (DeSmuME 0.9.9) with a Nintendo 64 controller. Quite a bit of the movement is a bit sloppy, like the long jumps and swimming. In retrospect, I didn't need to wait to shrink inside the painting at all and I could've just jumped straight into the water to get closer to the Star before shrinking. I might redo this Star on my 3DS later.

Finally, after being in the SM64DS community for a little over six years, I managed to get WR in a main category. I didnt think I would ever get a WR in this game until I started grinding this category about a month or so ago and realized there was some time to save in the mid-game and end-game from Rupas record. I think the only other time I had the potential to get WR in this game was in early 2018 when the 8 Star WR was 17:49 by J_duude and I had 18:15. FeelsStrongMan

Beats Zulices run by 6 seconds. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfoSmQamqyU) Timing starts as soon as I select New File from the title screen and ends when I lose control in Destiny. Of course, theres still room for improvement. Trench Run was bad, because I didnt use the Host Wireless trick to make the boss easier. Other than that, Id say it was a good run. I definitely think sub 15 is possible.")
