The route I used in this video is actually pretty straightforward. I collect the Koopa's shell and then six of the red coins. But since the red coins on the Chain Chomp's post and the floating island are higher from the ground than the previous six, they can't normally be collected without pressing buttons. To get around this, I head to one of the corners of the level with the shell and ride into it backwards. Since there is seemingly no backwards speed limit when riding the shell, I'm able to stay in place and build up as much speed as I need. The main reason that I went to build up speed was so that I can get just enough horizontal distance to launch myself into the red coins and collect them.

Finally, after being in the SM64DS community for a little over six years, I managed to get WR in a main category. I didnt think I would ever get a WR in this game until I started grinding this category about a month or so ago and realized there was some time to save in the mid-game and end-game from Rupas record. I think the only other time I had the potential to get WR in this game was in early 2018 when the 8 Star WR was 17:49 by J_duude and I had 18:15. FeelsStrongMan
