Just to clarify Harris's 'guilty pleasure' section. I was referring to Konnakol (also spelled Konokol, Konakkol, Konnakkol) (Tamil: கொன்னக்கோல் koṉṉakkōl) (Malayalam: വായ്ത്താരി), the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Carnatic music.
Also Bharatanatyam (Tamil: பரதநாட்டியம்), an Indian classical dance form that originated in Tamil Nadu, India. A classical dance form recognized by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, and expresses South Indian religious themes and spiritual ideas of Hinduism and Jainism. Influences that can be seen in the work of M.I.A. @M.I.A-OHMNI
