Although this 1948 classic orchestral work is ubiquitous during the holidays, you may not know that composer Leroy Anderson was inspired to start this work during a July heat wave. It has been since reorchestrated and performed countless times over the past nearly 70 years by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, and even the a cappella group Pentatonix. We know you’ve heard it on the radio a thousand times already this year, but we hope you enjoy this extra special live orchestra performance featuring a saxophone section and maybe even a real live horse.
