Beirut, Lebanon: a bond so strong nothing could destroy it.
Kaseem’s whole life changed when his home was bombed and he had to be rushed to the hospital. There, he fell into a deep coma from his injuries.
Only his two cats remained in the rubble. Knowing how much their son cared for them, Kaseem’s parents called Animals Lebanon for help. The team searched and searched the rubble and finally rescued Caramel and Meshmosh from what was left of the house. The team brought the two confused pets to the safety of their shelter, where they received food and a veterinary check, which thankfully showed they were unharmed. 🐈🐈
But as Caramel welcomed the reassuring cuddles, his brother Meshmosh remained distant and scared, seemingly missing his home… 💔
In the meantime, Kaseem, who had to undergo multiple surgeries, was starting to recover. When he finally woke up from his coma, one of the first things he asked was if his two cats had been saved too.
And then one morning, still under close medical care and despite remaining partially paralysed, Kaseem gathered his strength and family to visit Animals Lebanon.
Timid at first, Meshmosh and Caramel quickly realised who had come back for them.
And just like that, Meshmosh jumped into the arms he had been missing all along. ❤️🩹
Everyone in the room stayed quiet as they witnessed the heartwarming reunion of a young man and his two dear friends he feared he had lost forever.
Kaseem’s story is a powerful reminder that the wars impact did not end with the ceasefire. Families are still rebuilding their lives, and many still cant return home with the animals they love.
FOUR PAWS and Animals Lebanon stand together to ensure that Caramel, Meshmosh and many others, remain safe, healthy, and ready to reunite with their families when the day comes.

Soon, Mici — one of the last privately kept brown bears in Slovenia — will begin her journey to a better life at BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach in Austria. 🌿
At around 24 years old, Mici has spent years in captivity at a restaurant near Bled. Originally planned to be transferred to our BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz, her new home is changed to Arbesbach to better suit her needs. A recently available enclosure in Arbesbach offers her even greater privacy, making it the ideal environment for her recovery. 🐾
Our team, along with a wildlife vet, recently visited Mici to ensure she’s ready for this life-changing move. She’s active but clearly stressed around people — a reminder of why this rescue matters. 🙏
Stay tuned for updates as a fresh start is on the horizon for Bear Mici!

En 2025, en France, les selfies avec des 🐻 continuent d’être proposés malgré l’interdiction des spectacles itinérants depuis 2021. Dans sa nouvelle enquête, QUATRE PATTES révèle qu’un ancien ours de spectacle est encore exploité 📸 avec le public, sans aucune barrière ni mesure de sécurité ❌. Ces pratiques mettent en danger ⚠️ les visiteurs et causent du stress à l’animal : les ours, même nés en captivité, restent des animaux sauvages puissants et imprévisibles. Le risque d’accident ou de transmission de maladies est bien réel. QUATRE PATTES appelle le gouvernement à interdire tout contact direct entre le public et les ours ou autres carnivores non domestiques. Right now, he continues to suffer in unsuitable conditions in Slovenia, while the authorities block his relocation, and his owner, Mr Rožmanec, refuses to give him up.
