My entry for tunestorm#07. Assignment was to create a track using Haiku as lyrics. Lots of tasty dissonance. Synthesizer track + 3 voices singing harmonies (well trying to at least...). The synthesizer track is generated using LMMS (zynaddsubfx instruments). The vocals are recorded using the built-in laptop microphone (a bad idea - too much noise :) ). To make things worse: I had to sing as silently as possible not to wake up my family + the cat ate my headphone cable (unbelievable... sounds like such a lame excuse, but it really happened...)

Many recording problems, pronunciation mistakes, and mixing errors in this one :) I've learned a thing or two since making this, but I don't feel like revisiting my old stuff as long as I still have new stuff waiting to see daylight.

Im still without working digital piano... So Im posting a recent bootleg recording of an experimental piece I made. What we see and hear is a blind date with a light organ.(Oh... the irony.) The opportunity arose to write an experimental piece consisting of sounds and lights. I created and chose sounds, and I mapped the sounds to lights. Part of the challenge was that it was not known beforehand how the lamps were going to be ordered in the space, nor what they would look like in terms of size and color. Therefore the assignment was not only about creating sounds and triggering lights, but also a bit about trying to think of a kind of light choreography that could work with any ordering of lamps. This music is not to everyones taste obviously (nor is all my other music for that matter), but I think its worth listening to the end to see and hear how the atmosphere changes over the course of the piece. Im curious to learn from you in the comments what feelings you experienced during the piece (if any), and what feeling you were left with at the end. Did it manage to grab your attention at some point?")

Another close reading - this time of an animated conversation between two persons (Alan and Karl). In just 3 minutes time they discuss the meaning of life. Ive transcribed their conversation for piano and saxophone and background noises for percussion. This video might get taken down at some point in the future since I did ask their permission to reuse their video, but didnt get any reply.
