This is edited as if Rey were a Kenobi. I did like how Rey was a nobody with absolutely no lineage, but I honestly wouldn't have minded if she was Obi-Wan's granddaughter.
We had witnessed Anakin’s fall, as he was manipulated by Palpatine, but with Ben, we would see the reverse of that. We see that he has been manipulated, and his journey would be to grow and recover from that. Obi-Wan and Anakin didn't have a common enemy at the end of ROTS, but at the end of TROS, Ben and Rey did, which was Palpatine.
The voice of Obi-Wan played a key role in Rey's vision in TFA, almost like he’s trying to guide her, as a parent or guardian would in their absence. He warns her that she’ll be tempted, he calls out her name, and he tells her that "these are [her] first steps." So I think they had originally planned for her to be a Kenobi. I'm not sure why they backed out on it. Probably because Rian wanted to go a different route and make her a nobody. In a way, it would’ve been a nice way to wrap the saga. It began with Skywalkers and Kenobis and I wouldn’t have minded if they ended with Skywalkers and Kenobis once more.
And not to mention the contrasting elements of fire and water in their last battles. They would be the inverse of each other. So it would’ve been that Obi-Wan and Anakin had lost their way, but their grandchildren had been able to find their way, which would've been bringing balance to the force together. I think that way things would've come full circle. It could've been one of the ways they could've wrapped up the series. I don't know, food for thought?

This is a scrap, and also my first time trying selective color in premiere pro. To me it looks a bit blurry, I used a quick tutorial to show me how so I hope it doesnt look too bad. Also iffy about the ending, but oh well :))
