One great thing about the parks in Topeka, KS are the number of city parks that have excellent hiking trails! Skyline Park is a great example of this with its 4.7 miles of interconnected loop trails. We thought it would be a perfect place to add miles for the Hike365Challenge! Home to Burnett's Mound (Topeka's highest point), Skyline Park is a beautiful patch of tallgrass prairie amongst a residential backdrop. The park is home to wildlife, prairie wildflowers, and the Osage Orange tree. The latter we have affectionately nicknamed the Brain Tree due its unusual fruit! Okay, so I'm the only one that calls them that, but they're still really cool! Join us and see for yourself!
