Dirt Rift was originally hired by a farmer to wake him up in the morning. However, one day, Dirt Rift accidentally slept on the job and was kicked out. Dirt Rift walked by himself, dragging his feet, leaving a trail of scratch marks. Suddenly, he came across a ninja school where he was hired by a ninja teacher to rake the zen gardens using spiked arm gauntlets. Years later, he left school with his award, the gauntlets and started making his own farm. But as he was digging with his gauntlets, he accidentally sprayed dirt on a rabbit. Dirt Rift then thought he should find a way to control it more, that's when he saw Skylanders University not too far away and joined the place.
