Skitchin might be one of the strangest racing games ever released on the Sega Genesis… and it honestly feels like a lost spin-off of Road Rash.
Instead of motorcycles, you’re rollerblading through busy streets, grabbing onto cars for speed, dodging traffic, and fighting other racers mid-race. It’s chaotic, unpredictable, and completely ridiculous in the best way possible.
The DNA of Road Rash is all over this game — the combat, the risk-reward gameplay, even the overall feel — but Skitchin takes it in a much weirder direction. And that might be exactly why it never got the attention it deserved.
Looking back now, it feels like one of those forgotten experiments that actually worked… it just came out at a time when people didn’t quite know what to do with it.
If you’re into retro games or loved Road Rash back in the day, this is definitely one worth checking out.
