Diablo was on PS1… and nobody talks about it 👀
One of the most underrated RPGs on PlayStation.
When people talk about PlayStation RPGs, it’s always Final Fantasy, Chrono Cross, or Legend of Dragoon… but somehow Diablo on PS1 almost never gets mentioned.
And that’s wild — because this is one of the earliest examples of a console action RPG done right.
In this video, we take a look at the PS1 version of Diablo and why it’s such an underrated part of the system’s library. From its dark atmosphere and addictive loot system to the surprising way it adapts to a controller, this port was way ahead of its time.
It’s not perfect — the inventory can be clunky and load times can drag — but the core experience is still incredibly solid. And in a generation packed with massive RPGs, Diablo just kind of got buried.
