plot - Derek falls for Casey and eventually tells her how he feels, but she doesn't believe any sort of relationship could work between them because of the immature and ridiculing ways he's treated her in the past. She gives into his persistent pursual but only so that she can get back at him for his attitude towards her before. She plans to break his heart and have a relationship with Sam, but she unexpectedly starts to fall for Derek during the facade. He finds out about her scheme, however, and is devastated. He still loves her, but their relationship can never be the same.
