Join me for a sketchbook tour as I share my reflections on a live portrait drawing session with Drawing is Free.
In this session, we took turns being live models for one another, with each portrait timed to the length of a single song. Working quickly with just a pen, I had to capture the essence of a face intuitively without overthinking the details.
These traditional sketchbook practices are a vital part of my creative process, helping me refine how I see features before I translate them into my fiber and mixed media work. They work as a creative warm up. Finishing a page satisfies my need to complete a project.
