This feels like a very Looooooonnnnnnnggggggggg Time away.... BUT - at least we know when the park is planning their NEXT roller coaster! In an article posted on Cleveland.com - Colleen Murphy-Brady, the manager of Cedar Point and Jason McClure, senior vice president of park operations for Six Flags and a former general manager at Cedar Point, told us some interesting thing.
Both McClure and Brady attributed Cedar Point’s strong performance this year to the introduction of two new roller coasters: Siren’s Curse, a tilt coaster with a 61-foot piece of track that rotates 90 degrees, and Top Thrill 2, with a top speed of 120 mph and a height of 420 feet.
Top Thrill 2 debuted in 2024, but was closed for much of the year, which means it was effectively new to most 2025 guests.
Siren’s Curse was originally intended for Six Flags Mexico City, but was relocated to Sandusky late last year due to permitting issues in Mexico.
And then he goes on to say this...
McClure pointed to the addition of Siren’s Curse as one of the big benefits for Cedar Point of the merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags. “It would have been _____ years before we had another roller coaster,” said McClure.
