--Overall Comments--
This final season just continues to blow expectations out of the water. In this week’s episode, we finally have (mainly) Princess Sisters episode, focusing on them taking some time off from their duties to do what they want. So much fun!
And this episode also delivers on something else we haven’t gotten in nine seasons: a Celestia and Luna duet song! This was certainly a very pleasant surprise. We haven’t heard Celestia sing since Season 4’s finale, and Luna since Season 6’s “Hearths Warming Tail.” This is certainly quite the treat for the final season. I’m extremely happy that the crew knew that 9 would be the final season before hand, giving them the opportunity to prioritize episodes such as this. The song itself is absolutely fantastic, enjoyable, and has a fantastic orchestration to boot.
William Anderson’s score as usual doesn’t disappoint, starting off with over-the-top heroic sounds for the Princess’ mid-life crisis, and ending with some beautiful, emotional score for their reconciliation.
