Watch as I testing my NEW/OLD Singer 237-MA sewing machine for the first time. I picked this up for $28. After cleaning and oiling it and doing some adjustments to the tension assembly it sews very smoothly. I also sewed a pleat in a curtain header with heavy buckram off camera. It passed this test with no struggle at all.
These old classic machines are great to have around to keep from abusing your electronic machine. You can pick them up for such a low price as well.
