SimCity is a city management simulation game developed by Maxis Software and published by Brøderbund Software in 1989. It is the first game in the popular SimCity series.
The first version was completed in 1985. However, publishers at that time refused to distribute it, since it was an unusual game without a clear goal. So Maxis was founded to publish it.
In 2008, the source code was released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Since EA holds the rights to the SimCity trademark, it was renamed Micropolis, the original working title of the game. In addition, plane crashes were removed because of September 11.
In this video you can see the PC MS-DOS demo. Since it doesn't have any music, we used the soundtrack from the SNES version.
