'A Salti' was born from Silvia's fascination for connecting pre-existing music to new music. The piece developed in collaboration with Miloš Milivojević makes use of the information retrieved from the frequency analysis of an excerpt from one of the sonatas by Alessandro Scarlatti. The title originates from the extraction of letters from the subtitle 'after Scarlatti' and is Italian for 'with leaps', which depicts how the re-synthesis of the original piece is made by jumping between different frequency bandwidths.
